Personal Data
By shopping with Vecanis, you accept our privacy policy and our processing of your personal data. We respect your privacy and do not collect more information than necessary to process your order. We never sell or share your information with third parties without legal basis. Vecanis is responsible for managing the personal data you provide to us as a customer. Your personal data is processed by us to handle your order and in cases where you have requested newsletters or promotional offers, to customize marketing to suit your individual needs.
Below is a summary of how we store and process your data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What is personal data?
Personal data refers to any information that directly or indirectly relates to an identifiable natural person.
What data do we store?
To manage your order and respond to order-related inquiries (customer service), we store your first and last name, address, phone number, email address, IP address, and purchase history. Your data is stored as long as we have a legal basis to process it, such as fulfilling our agreement with you or complying with legal obligations under, for example, accounting laws.
Legal Basis
When making a purchase, your personal data is processed to fulfill the agreement with you. Marketing, promotions, and similar communications are sent with your consent.
What data is shared and for what purpose?
When making a purchase, information is shared with our payment provider. This includes first and last name, address, email address, and phone number. If you choose to pay by invoice, your personal ID number is also stored by the payment provider. This information is saved to complete the purchase and protect the parties involved from fraud. Our payment providers include Swish, Stripe, and PayPal.
To deliver your orders and complete our agreement, we share specific information with the shipping company. This includes first and last name and delivery address. Email and/or phone number may also be shared for notification purposes. The shipping company we primarily use is DHL, though others may be used in specific cases.
Newsletters
If you have subscribed to our newsletter, your first and last name and email address will be shared with our newsletter service provider. This is to keep you updated with information and offers for marketing purposes. We use Mailchimp for newsletter distribution.
Right of Access
You have the right to request a copy of all the information we have about you. This information will be delivered electronically in a readable format.
Right to Rectification
You have the right to ask us to update incorrect information or complete incomplete details.
Right to Erasure
You can request that we delete your personal data at any time. There are a few exceptions to the right to erasure, such as if the data needs to be retained to fulfill a legal obligation (e.g., under accounting laws).
Data Protection Responsibility
Vecanis is responsible for storing and processing personal data in the online store and ensures compliance with the applicable regulations.
How We Protect Your Personal Data
We use industry standards such as SSL/TLS and one-way hash algorithms to securely store, process, and communicate sensitive information like personal data and passwords. We utilize a Swedish platform, Quickbutik, operated by Quickbutik AB based in Helsingborg.
